I have no problem with title and I would buy and wear a shirt that says ‘Classy Black Man’. I dress and act with class and dignity which is what a lot of black men lack these days. Some black men have looked wrongly to the hip-hop/rap realm as a guide to how to act, dress, and speak which is terribly horrific if you ask me. I would never stoop to that level and I certianly was not raise to look and act a fool. For all of you that disagree with the title and the distinction between regular hip-hop/rap common blacks and black men with class then you must see yourself as being disinfranchised by this and feel like a outsider. For black men like myself who don’t sag our pants and wear oversized clothes this article is a treasure that lets us know someone somewhere appreciates the small class of black men who are decently dress everyday.

I find the name of the article helpful. I wanted to find a site that would give me some idea of how to dress, and what colors to wear with dark skin(or very dark skin in my case). Having the word “Black” in the title makes it easy to find in a google search.

It’s a little racist. The color of the people’s skin did not have to be brought up. Yes. SOME blacks dress badly in the media’s eyes. But, it’s rude to bring up the color of their skin and give it a label. A black person might look at this and feel like they’re doing something wrong and not dressing correctly because you’re implying that they usually don’t. People should just be people in your eyes. Regardless of how many pigments your corneas could pick up on their skin. So what if it were the other way around with the title Classy White Men? It would still be racist. And racism isn’t acceptable under any circumstance.

They said “classy” because these dudes are not thugs; the predominant fashion paradigm these days. That hip-hop look has set the tone for young black men’s images, and this layout refutes that image. Does the picture not explain it all? LOL I’m black myself and don’t take this too seriously but – the title is a bit…silly – you’ve had better titles on this blog but this one…unnecessary really…the proof is in the picture ;-)

Ano and DJ you both make a good points, HonestFashion..If I’m honest in most other pics on this site the men are white…with no highlight to that fact…so in this case you’re wrong but I see your logic

I completely diagree with both of you. You seem to be the racist ones pointing out the word “black.” If anything, this is a compliment. Black men clearly dress nicer and more classy than white men. If it said “Classy white men” you probably wouldn’t make a big deal of it would you?
