I have to say that to stereotype a certain style as pertaining to one gender only is very passé. I do agree that this look is not very flattering (for men and women) but as the fashion world moves forward, so should our perception of acceptable style.

Well, Fred Astaire was definitely a man with style. He often wore a tie as a belt. Ralph Lauren also featured some of his men's fashions with the same look. I guess it all depends on how you wear it and with what look you're going for.

I agree with William. The necktie as a belt thing is for girls. With that being said, I definitely wouldn't let my girlfriend use one of my ties for a belt.

I believe in uniqueness, I love stepping out of the box but the whole belt thing is completely unattractive and down right sissified!
